We want to set a new paradigm, not only for the game industry, but for the whole economy. An economy of peer to peer trades, decentralisation of companies, projects and patrimony.
Our goal is to build an innovative in-game economy, where players own their game items and cards not only in the game world but also outside the game, on the blockchain.
We believe players should have full ownership of their game items. Once players acquire a game asset, they should be free to own and transfer it. Unlike in other games, players should be able to keep their assets outside the game database and be completely independent with them. Once they own a game item, they can play it in Spells of Genesis or Moonga, trade it on the blockchain or even find alternative uses for it in other games.
Both BitCrystals and other Spells of Genesis game items are digital assets based on Counterparty. Counterparty is a platform which allows the creation of custom tokens, which act as their own cryptocurrency, while still running on the blockchain. Game assets in SoG are assigned a unique Counterparty token. This allows them to be used and traded freely outside the game.
If you have bought BitCrystals (BCY) during the Token Sale or from another player after the end of the Token Sale, you can trade your BCY on the blockchain and exchange them for other cryptocurrencies. You can also use them to purchase some of the SoG blockchain-based trading cards. Furthermore, you can play your cards in Spells of Genesis or Moonga, or trade them on the blockchain.
BitCrystals, tradable Counterparty assets, were issued in a limited supply of 100 000 000 units. 30% of the initial supply were kept by EverdreamSoft for promotion and development purposes, 70 000 000 BCY were allocated to the BitCrystals Token Sale. The unsold BCY from the Token Sale were burnt afterwards.
BitCrystals are now traded on the blockchain and within a month after the end of the Token Sale, they became one of the top ten most traded digital assets.
At the end of each month, 50% of the cards sale income in BCY are burnt and EverdreamSoft publishes a detailed report indicating their BCY incomes as well as the amount to burn. The amount of BCY is then sent at this burn address: 1BURNSogXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXW3ny2Y.
The total supply of BCY is constantly decreasing thus its value keeps increasing.
The development of Spells of Genesis was funded by the BitCrystals Token Sale, which lasted for 30 days. Backers of the project bought BitCrystals and thus supported its development. BitCrystals were initially offered at the rate of 15 000 BCY per BTC and their price gradually increased every 5 days.
About 90% of the Token Sale goal, set at 730 BTC, was funded in only 3 days! In one month, over 930 BTC worth of BitCrystals was sold. After the Token Sale end, all the unsold BCY from the total amount available for sale (70 000 000 BCY) were burnt.
Four Milestones were defined prior to the Token Sale. The funds are held in a multisig wallet and 25% of the total amount is released each time EverdreamSoft reaches one of their Milestones.
